Inflexion, the quoted mid-market private equity investment manager, has announced the appointment of Andrew Burns, the former finance director at Luminar Leisure, to the Inflexion advisory panel.
The appointment of Burns boosts Inflexion’s expertise in the leisure sector. Burns’ previous roles have included finance and commercial director of Rank Video Services Europe, where he was responsible for European expansion as well as finance director of Luminar Leisure. To date, Inflexion has made a number of investments in this sector, including TC Holdings, the German fitness chain.
Commenting on the appointment, Simon Turner, joint CEO of Inflexion said: “Andrew will bring a high level of leisure industry experience to our advisory panel. It is a sector in which we already have a number of interests and one which produces good returns on investments.”
Inflexion’s advisory panel includes Helen Alexander, CEO of the Economist Group and Geoff Westmore, formerly global leader of strategic M&A at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. The advisory panel serves as a source of deal flow for the company and also assists investee companies, providing perspective in trends and issues in the markets.
Inflexion is a mid-market private equity investor, focused on media, technology, leisure and engineering. Investment types include buyout, development capital and buy and build transactions. Inflexion invests in buyout and development capital transactions in proven businesses with enterprise values of £10-100m, primarily in the UK, making equity investments in the range of £2-10m.
