Inflexion appoints senior recruitment specialist

Andrew Priest will help the UK mid-market firm expand its network of senior industry contacts.

Inflexion Private Equity has appointed a new director to boost its network of senior industry contacts, the firm said in a statement.

Andrew Priest will join Inflexion’s origination team. He was formerly a partner at private equity executive search firm Skillcapital, where he built an international network of contacts among entrepreneurs, chief executives officers, non-executive directors and chairmen, with a recent focus on individuals in the energy, industrial and financial services sectors, the statement said.

“I have known the Inflexion team for almost a decade and have worked with them closely around both their portfolio and new investments,” Priest said in the statement. “The mid-market is where ambitious executives and chairmen often have the biggest impact on growing businesses.”

The mid-market firm also announced that it had promoted six investment directors to partner across its partnership capital and buyout teams. I has also appointed two new investment directors and hired an investment executive.

Inflexion’s hire of a recruitment specialist follows HgCapital’s announcement in mid-June that it had created a new post of head of portfolio talent, as reported by Private Equity International.

In the past six months, Inflexion has invested in Shimtech and CloserStill Media, and realised investments in CTC Aviation and submarine vehicle manufacturer SMD and exited its stake in Sanne Group through an initial public offering.

Last year Inflexion raised more than £1 billion for two investment vehicles: its flagship fund, Inflexion Buyout Fund IV, which closed on its hard-cap of £650 million (€880 million; $990 million); and Inflexion Partnership Capital Fund I, dedicated to UK mid-market minority investments, which closed on its hard-cap of £400 million.
