Kamil Salame, former partner with DLJ Merchant Banking and managing director with Credit Suisse, will head up CVC’s financial institutions group from the US. The firm launched its financial institutions team last year.

Canadian online parenting platform Kaboose has sold its UK operations, Bounty Group, to Barclays Private Equity as well as around $18m worth of US assets to Disney Online. The media firm said it had had 'a difficult year'.

The London-based buyout house is the last bidder standing in the battle for Barclays Group’s ETF business. The deal will reportedly be worth up to £3bn and largely financed with a loan from Barclays.
- CVC Asia Pacific to divest 70% stake in I-Med division
The private equity firm will sell off one of the Australian company's subsidiaries, reported to be its oncology and cardiology diagnostics business, which could fetch up to A$210m. CVC Asia Pacific bought I-Med's parent in an A$2.7bn deal in 2006.
