The Colorado Fire and Police Pension Association manages the Fire and Police Members’ Benefit Fund. This includes the assets of the Statewide Defined Benefit Plan, the Statewide Death and Disability Plan, non-self directed Deferred Retirement Option Plans (DROP), and over 200 separate local old hire and volunteer plans. It also includes assets of a planned Statewide Hybrid.

The pension fund is an active investor in private equity and has invested in over 60 funds. At present, the fund has a 6.6% allocation to private equity. The current moving target stands at 7%, with plans to increase to 9.5% in the next two years.

Hamilton Lane Advisors are private equity consultants for The Colorado Fire and Police Pension Association. Prior to this, the pension fund used Pacific Corporate Group, whose contract expired in early 2007.
