New Jersey Division of Investment plans to boost its target allocation to private equity from 12 to 13 percent of its total investment portfolio, according to its July 2020 director’s report.

As illustrated below, the $74.05 billion US public pension currently allocates 11.91 percent of its investment portfolio to private equity. Alternative investments constitute 27.8 percent of the institution’s entire portfolio.
