Paul Capital appoints new managing director

Lisa Edgar, who just joined the firm in 2003, will join the management of Paul Capital Top Tier Investments’ fund of funds offerings.

Paul Capital Top Tier Investments, a joint venture between Paul Capital and Bank of Ireland, has promoted Lisa Edgar to managing director.

Lisa Edgar, Paul Capital

Edgar joined Paul Capital Top Tier Investments in 2003, and was made a principal in 2004. She had previously been part of the asset management team at WR Hembrecht & Co, focusing on new and emerging private equity funds.

Before joining WR Hembrecht, Edgar spent 10 years at Horsley Bridge Partners, where she was responsible for providing research for the fund-of-funds investment decision-making process, managing the public portfolio of venture-backed distributions and buying and selling private equity partnership interests in the secondary market.

Edgar will join PCTTI chairman Philip Paul and managing directors David York and Jamie Johnson in her new role.

PCTTI is a San Francisco-based joint venture between Paul Capital Partners and Bank of Ireland. The bank paid $25 million in cash for a 50 percent share in the venture, and may be increasing its share in the future. Paul Capital closed its third fund of funds, Paul Capital Top Tier Investments III, at $620 million in September 2005, $120 million above its target. That fund makes investments in primary and secondary interests in upper-quartile venture funds.
