Performance watch: Silver Lake’s PE funds

Silver Lake is one of private equity’s most bullish tech investors. The firm started off the year with a bang, leading a $1 billion investment round in life sciences research firm Verily, part of Google’s parent company Alphabet.

The tech specialist is deploying its 2015-vintage $15 billion Silver Lake Partners V. As part of its “Performance watch” series, Private Equity International takes a look at how the firm’s previous vehicles have performed.

The interactive chart below shows the firm’s private equity fund history, based on publicly available limited partner data. The bubbles are sized proportionately to the size of the fund; toggle between the tabs to see how they have fared by internal rate of return and multiple on invested capital.

Silver Lake declined to comment on performance.
