Plymouth County approves $24m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two North American private equity funds.

Plymouth County Retirement System has confirmed $24 million-worth of private equity commitments to two vehicles, according to the pension’s February 2020 meeting minutes.

The commitments comprise of $12 million each to FS Equity VIII and Charlesbank Tech, managed by Freeman Spogli & Co. and Charlesbank Capital Partners respectively.

The $1.08 billion US public pension has a 13.0 percent target allocation to private equity which currently stands at 5.90 percent.

As illustrated below, Plymouth County Retirement System has made eight commitments to private equity funds with a 2018 or 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $96 million.
