PE-backed Guidehouse to acquire Navigant

Guidehouse, a portfolio company of Veritas Capital, has agreed to acquire Navigant Consulting Inc, a professional services firm. The transaction is valued at about $1.1 billion. Jefferies LLC acted as financial adviser to Navigant while Sidley Austin LLP provided legal counsel. And, Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP served as legal counsel to Guidehouse and Veritas Capital.

Ares hires ex-Fortress exec Joel Holsinger to co-lead alternative credit

Ares Management hired ex-Fortress executive Joel Holsinger as co-head of alternative credit, effectively immediately. Holsinger will work alongside Keith Ashton co-leading alternative credit to expand Ares's global coverage of the sector, which targets asset-focused direct investments primarily in North America and Europe. Holsinger previously was a partner with Fortress Investment Group, where he was a member of the management committee and the investment committee for the credit funds. Before, he was a founding partner at Atalaya Capital Management.

Brookfield in talks to acquire stake in BRK Ambiental: Reuters

Brookfield Asset Management is in talks to acquire a 30 percent interest in BRK Ambiental, a Brazilian water distribution, collection and treatment company, sources told Reuters. A deal could value the stake at US$520 million, the report said. It is currently held by workers severance fund FGTS, which is managed by Caixa Economica Federal, a Brazilian state bank. In 2017, Brookfield's private equity group acquired a 70 percent interest in BRK, then known as Odebrecht Ambiental. The transaction reflected a total investment of US$908 million.

PE-backed R+R acquires DGC assets

Restoration + Recovery, which is backed by DFW Capital, has acquired the assets of DGC Environmental Services Inc, a provider of stormwater services. No financial terms were disclosed.

OHAI to merge with PTMN

OHA Investment Corporation has agreed to merge with and into Portman Ridge Finance, a business development company managed by Sierra Crest Investment Management LLC, BC Partners Advisors L.P. and LibreMax Capital LLC. The deal is expected to close in the fourth calendar quarter of 2019.

Bain Capital Real Estate sells life science portfolio for about $405 mln

Bain Capital Real Estate has sold its core life science portfolio based in Research Triangle, North Carolina in a deal valued at about $405 million. The portfolio consists of 18 buildings on four campuses. The buyer was Longfellow Real Estate Partners.
