There is only six months to go until the Impetus-PEF Private Equity Triathlon.
The annual industry event, which will take place on 17 September at the Olympic venue at Dorney Lake near Windsor, is an opportunity to get fit and enjoy a fun day out with family, industry colleagues and friends, all the while raising money for a good cause.
The 400 or so athletes that supported the event last year as individuals and in relay teams, raised a impressive £190,000 for charities supported by Impetus-PEF that help young people get the resources they need to succeed in education and secure employment. More are expected to sign up for 2016.
If you’ve never competed before, you’re in good company. Andy Ratcliffe, Impetus-PEF’s new chief executive, will be swimming, cycling and running the course for the first time too.
Nikos Stathopoulos, BC Partners managing partner and an Impetus-PEF trustee – who aims to complete the course for the third time this year and who describes his fitness regime as “too little, too late”- is certain that you don’t need to be a super-triathlete to participate.
But, for those with a competitive streak, racing on the day is also an opportunity to best last year’s winners from among Aztec Group, CVC Capital partners, Summit Partners, Alvarez and Marsal, and, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
The triathlon is your chance to better your fitness and the lives of thousands of disadvantaged young people in the UK.
Wetsuit and bike hire will be available on the day.
