Rhode Island State Treasury approves $130m in commitments

The US public pension has backed three private equity funds.

Rhode Island State Treasury has agreed to commit $130 million-worth of private equity commitments across three vehicles, according to the pension’s December meeting minutes. The commitments comprise of $50 million (£38.3 million) to Pollen Street Capital IV, $50 million to Wynnchurch Capital Partners V and $30 million to Shamrock Capital Content Fund II.

The $8.55 billion US public pension has a 7.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 7.50 percent.

As illustrated below, the state treasury has made nine commitments to 2019-vintage private equity funds, which combined constitute $370 million.
