Silver Lake Sumeru eyes Israeli tech market

The tech-focused middle market investor has recruited a senior advisor for Israel.

Silver Lake Sumeru, the middle-market affiliate of mature technology investment firm Silver Lake Partners, has appointed Yuda Doron as senior advisor for Israel.

Doron will be overseeing the firm’s Israeli operations as it seeks to “identify investment opportunities and expand the firm’s relationships” in the country, according to a statement.

With 20-years’ experience within the technology sector, Doron has held posts at Texas Instruments and Cheyenne Communications. He has also been an angel investor, is the founder of software company Texel and was a strategy consultant on the sale of Bristol Technology to HP.

A source close to the firm denied reports that Doron's appointment would lead to Silver Lake opening a Tel Aviv office. Silver Lake declined to comment.

Silver Lake currently has offices in New York, San Fransisco, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo. It recently completed its second deal in China.
