SmartSynch Buys Applied Mesh Technologies

SmartSynch Inc., a Jackson, Miss.-based provider of public wireless smart metering technology, has acquired Applied Mesh Technologies, a Macon, Ga.-based provider of energy monitoring and usage control solutions to to utilities and their enterprise customers. No financial terms werei disclosed. SmartSynch has raised around $80 million in total VC funding since 2000, from firms like Battelle Ventures, Beacon Group, Credit Suisse, Endeavor Capital Management, GulfSouth Capital, Innovation Valley Partners, Kinetic Ventures, OPG Ventures and Siemens Venture Capital.
