South Carolina Retirement commits over $400m to private equity

The pensions have re-upped its relationship with a number of managers.

South Carolina Retirement System committed over $400 million to funds from Silver Lake, Horsley Bridge Partners and Nordic Capital at its September meeting, according to its September 2020 meeting agenda. The US pension committed $100 million to Silver Lake Partners VI, which raised $18.27 billion, shooting past its $18 billion target, Private Equity International previously reported.

The system pledged up to $200 million to Horsley Bridge Strategic Fund V. South Carolina has a relationship with Horsley, having previously committed $220 million and $50 million to Horsley Bridge XII and XIII, respectively. SCRS also committed €100 million to Nordic Capital X, targeting €5 billion, PEI data show.
