SURS looks to invest $850m to PE

The US public pension fund plans to invest upwards between 2015 and 2017.

State Universities Retirement System of Illinois is looking to invest upwards of $850 million into private equity between 2015 and 2017. The goal is to allocate $250 million in its 2015 fiscal year and $300 million each in 2016 and 2017.

The $18 billion US public pension has a 5.4 percent allocation to private equity.
