Technology guru to advise Apax

Apax Partners has expanded its Paris office with the hires of three investment professionals including Bernard Bourigeaud, a technology veteran with a formidable track record in buy-and-build strategies, as a senior advisor.

Apax Partners has appointed Bernard Bourigeaud, the former head of global IT services giant Atos Origin, as a senior advisor to its Paris office. He will contribute to the development of Apax’s European portfolio companies in both IT and other sectors.

After becoming president of IT company Axime in 1991, Bourigeaud steered the company through a series of five acquisitions, including those of Origin, the IT division of Philips, and the consulting divisions of KPMG in the UK and Netherlands.
 
Bourigeaud remained as chairman and chief executive officer of the company until October 2007.
 
In related news, Apax has bolstered its Parisian investment team with the hires of Sébastien Mazzuri, a healthcare specialist from consultancy McKinsey & Company, and Thomas Simon, formerly of Goldman Sachs, where he specialised in retail and consumer transactions. Both joined the firm as senior associates.
