TRS Texas approves $628m in commitments

The US public pension has backed five private equity funds.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas has agreed to commit $628 million-worth of commitments to five private equity funds, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The commitments comprise of $250 million to EQT Infrastructure Fund V, $200 million to EQT IX, $100 million to GTCR Fund XIII, £40 million ($53 million; €45 million) to Bridgepoint Development Capital IV and $25 million to OMNIA Co-Investment.

The $148.08 billion US public pension has a 14.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 14.70 percent.

As illustrated below, the pension fund’s recent commitments are to vehicles focused on the renewables, technology, financial services and healthcare sectors within the Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America regions.
