TSG Consumer hires principal for deal origination

Irena Blind, who joins TSG from Raymond James, will be responsible for originating growth capital and buyout transactions with branded consumer companies.

TSG Consumer Partners has hired Irena Blind as principal to focus exclusively on transaction origination, the firm said.

Her role entails originating growth capital and buyout private equity transactions with consumer branded companies in subsectors such as apparel and accessories, beauty, personal care, household and luxury goods, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Before joining TSG, Blind served as senior vice president in Raymond James’ retail and consumer investment banking group. She was also vice president of retail and consumer group at Stephens, vice president at mid-market private equity fund Industrial Renaissance, vice president at SMH Capital and associate at Credit Suisse, according to her LinkedIn.

“Her extensive expertise in M&A and long career in the branded consumer sector make Irena and extremely valuable addition for our deal origination efforts, particularly given the recent closing of TSG7 A and TSG7 B,” TSG chief executive and founder Chuck Esserman said in a statement. “”We look forward to having Irena join us as we target both larger, high growth consumer companies through TSG7 A as well as smaller, high growth companies through TSG7 B.”

In December, TSG7 closed on $2.5 billion with the main fund vehicle and the companion fund, TSG7 B. Its portfolio has included vitaminwater, Muscle Milk, Stumptown, Pabst, Planet Fitness, REVOLVE Clothing and Smashbox Cosmetics.

The firm manages $5 billion in assets.
