CastBox, an audio platform that allows users to listen, create and share their favorite content, has raised $16 million in funding, according to a blog post. UPDATE: Qiming Venture Partners and IDG Capital led the round with participation from SIG China, GSR Ventures and ZhenFund.

Kobalt, a music services company, has raised $14 million in funding. Former Google Ventures (now GV) head Bill Maris' new venture fund Section 32 was the lead investor. In addition to the funding, Maris will join Kobalt's board of directors.

Boston-based M33 Growth, a venture and growth-stage investment firm, has closed its debut fund at $180 million. M33 Growth I LP will initially make eight to 10 investments in bootstrapped companies with more than $5 million in revenue in the software, healthcare and services sectors. The fund's limited partners include top endowments, institutional investors and philanthropic foundations.

Spoonflower, a provider on-demand digital printing of custom fabric, wallpaper and gift wrapping, has named Donnie Steele as chief revenue officer. He was the president and chief marketing officer of SmartPak Equine. Spoonflower's backers include Guidepost Growth Equity (formerly North Bridge Growth Equity) and Bull City Venture Partners.

Jernigan has invested $9.4 million in a proposed Oakland Park/North Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based self-storage project. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2018 and be completed in the first quarter of 2019. Self Storage Associates, Inc./Richard Beavers is the project's developer.

Welltok has acquired Georgia-based Tea Leaves Health, a provider of an SaaS-based analytics and marketing technology platform for hospitals. The seller was Ziff Davis, a subsidiary of j2 Global Inc. No financial terms were disclosed. Welltok's backers include Bessemer Venture Partners and Miramar Ventures.

Scale Venture Partners has promoted Alexander Niehenke to partner, Susan Liu to principal and Jeremy Kauffmann to senior associate, according to a blog post. Niehenke joined the venture firm in 2013 while Liu came on board in 2012. Based in Foster City, California, ScaleVP invests in enterprise technology companies with a focus on SaaS and cloud infrastructure.
