Rathi joined the firm in 2016 as a principal with a focus on machine learning and artificial intelligence Previously, she was a principal at Opus Capital. Carter joined the firm in 2013 as an associate, working on business development, staffing and strategy for portfolio companies. Previously, he was in investment banking at Mooreland Partners.

Late-stage venture IVP announced it has promoted Alex Lim to vice president. Lim joined the firm in 2015 and focuses on high growth consumer and enterprise companies. The firm said he was involved in sourcing its investments in Cyence, Discord, Hims and Qubole, and also worked on investments in Qadium, SteelBrick, Snap, TuneIn, Walker and Company and Zerto. Prior to IVP, he worked at Credit Suisse.

Andreessen Horowitz has promoted Connie Chan to general partner, according to a post by the Silicon Valley venture firm's co-founder Ben Horowitz. As Horowitz noted, Chan's promotion to GP has set a precedent for the firm as it marks a break from its old "GP no-promotion rule," which he calls "dated and out of place." Chan initially joined the firm as an analyst.
