Mogo Finance Technology Inc (TSX: GO) has added Tom Liston, managing partner at Difference Capital Financial, to its board of directors. Difference Capital is a Canadian provider of debt and equity funding to mostly late-stage private companies in technology, media and healthcare sectors. It is an investor in Mogo, a Vancouver-based online lending platform. Mogo went public in mid-2015, raising $50 million. It has recently secured funding from affiliates of U.S. private equity firm Fortress Investment Group.

New Enterprise Associates announced that Mohamad Makhzoumi and Chetan Puttagunta have each been promoted to general partner. NEA also named Partner Carmen Chang, who leads the firm’s China operations, as Chairman and Head, Asia. Additionally, two members of the firm’s portfolio services team were promoted. Albert Lee was named Design Partner and Holly Rose Faith was promoted to Talent Partner.

Ignition Partners, which last year raised $200 million for its sixth fund to invest in early-stage enterprise software, announced that Bob Kelly has joined as a managing partner in the firm’s Bellevue, Washington, office. Kelly had been with Microsoft for 20 years, most recently serving as corporate vice president in charge of M&A strategy and business development. When he begins working at Ignition on Jan. 1, he will become the fourth investment partner at the firm, alongside Managing Partners Frank Artale, John Connors and Nick Sturiale. Artale and Connors are both former executives at Microsoft.

Boston-based Teikametrics, an ecommerce optimization platform for retailers on Amazon and other marketplaces, has named Andy Coughlin as chief revenue officer. Currently, Coughlin is a partner at Converge Venture Partners.

Joining the firm are Dr. David Allison as principal, Joe Victor as venture partner and Rebecca Lucia as chief financial officer. Previously, Allison was a principal at Versant Ventures while Lucia was chief financial officer at Prospect Venture Partners. Victor is the former CEO of 5AM portfolio companies DVS Sciences (which was acquired by Fluidigm) and Startide Sciences.

Sequoia Capital named Jess Lee a U.S. investing partner, the first female VC in the firm's 44-year history. Lee, who was co-founder and chief executive of fashion ecommerce site Polyvore, which Yahoo bought last year for about $200 million. Sequoia had been trying to recruit Lee to its roster since 2012, and she will start work on Nov. 7, according to Bloomberg. Lee, 33, will also be one of Sequoia's youngest partners at the firm.
