Vista hires Bain Capital IR exec

The US private equity firm has hired Christopher Pietersen as senior vice president of investor relations.

Vista Equity Partners has hired former Bain Capital investor relations executive Christopher Pietersen as senior vice president of its investor relations team, according to the firm’s website.

Pietersen joined the firm’s Austin office in December and is responsible for marketing and managing relationships with investors. He has a particular focus on investments in Europe and the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

It is not clear if he is taking over the role from a former vice president. A spokesperson for Vista did not return a request for comment.

Prior to his new role, Pietersen worked as a director of investor relations at Bain Capital from 2014 to 2015, according to his Linkedin profile. During his tenure, he was responsible for Middle East investor coverage.

He joined Bain’s New York office from First Reserve’s London office, after spending four years there as vice president of investor relations and co-investment. During his time at First Reserve, he was involved in leading fundraising and co-investment in EMEA.

Previously, Pietersen also worked with GPs across private equity and real assets at UBS Investment Bank, in both London and New York, and was a principal investor with General Atlantic, according to Vista’s website.
