Veronis Suhler Stevenson has promoted Nick Veronis, David Holland and Trent Hickman to managing director positions with the firm. The three, who started as associates at the firm six years ago, have increasingly taken on leadership roles at portfolio companies and been significant players in recent deals.
Nick Veronis, son of co-founder John Veronis, will be responsible for originating and structuring investment opportunities and managing portfolio companies. He played a key role in the firm’s investment in Hemscott and was actively involved in the acquisition of PreVisor and DOAR. He specializes in the business information services sector and comes from a media background, having previously worked as a reporter for the Boston Business Journal and The Star Ledger in New Jersey.
David Holland is based in the firm’s London office, and he recently led the acquisition of Sherston Publishing and Granada Learning. He also worked on the $1 billion refinancing and subsequent sale of the firm’s European directory investment, YBR Group.
Trent Hickman will be responsible for developing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, arranging debt financing for portfolio investments and monitoring portfolio companies. He has been involved in the firm’s investments in Southern Theaters, Access Intelligence, Pepcom and Ascend Media.
Veronis Suhler Stevenson invests in the media, communications, information and education industries in North America and Europe. The firm focuses on buyouts, recapitalizations, growth financings and providing capital for strategic acquisitions. The firm’s portfolio has a realized and unrealized enterprise value totaling approximately $9.1 billion.
