AIB backs healthcare-focused PE fund

The Irish financial services group has reiterated its support for Fountain Healthcare Partners' series of funds.

Allied Irish Banks (AIB) agreed to commit an undisclosed amount to Fountain Healthcare Partners III in Q1 2019, a contact at the financial services group informed Private Equity International.

Fountain Healthcare Partners’ third series fund focuses on venture capital and growth equity investments into the life sciences sector in Europe and the US. AIB also committed to the fund’s predecessor.

As illustrated below, AIB’s private equity commitments focus on funds targeting early stage investments in biotech / life sciences, healthcare or TMT.
