Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd said Oct. 8 that it does not intend to go forward with its $39 billion offer for the London Stock Exchange. The HKEX said its board “is disappointed that it has been unable to engage with the management of LSEG in realising this vision, and as a consequence has decided it is not in the best interests of HKEX shareholders to pursue this proposal.”

Group Nine Media said Oct. 7 that it agreed to buy PopSugar Inc. The deal values PopSugar at more than $300 million, according to press reports. PopSugar, a women-focused publisher, has raised $41 million in funding from Sequoia Capital and IVP.

Eggleston was most recently with BGF plc, where he was a member of the executive & investment committees. Berke recently worked for Insight Investment where he was head of resourcing.

Vista Equity Partners is seeking to sell a minority stake in Finastra, Acuris reported Sept. 30. Vista has hired Goldman Sachs to gauge interest from potential buyers, Bloomberg reported Oct. 4. Vista is looking to sell as much as 50 percent of Finastra, Bloomberg said. Vista combined Misys with D+H to form Finastra.
