Invitation Homes, a portfolio company of Blackstone Group, is merging with Starwood Waypoint Homes. The combined company, to be called Invitation Homes, will have 82,000 homes and average of 4,800 homes per market. Once the deal closes Invitation Homes stockholders will own about 59 percent of the combined company, while Starwood Waypoint Homes stockholders will have about 41 percent. The total enterprise value of the deal is $20 billion. Invitation Homes, a U.S. home rental company, went public in February. Starwood is a publicly-traded owner and operator of single-family rental homes.

An investor group led by HPS Investment Partners LLC and Tennenbaum Capital Partners LLC have agreed to buy Globecomm Systems Inc. Financial terms weren’t announced. Globecomm, of Hauppauge, New York, is a satellite communications company. Wasserstein & Co acquired Globecomm in 2013 for $340 million.

Palamon Capital Partners said Aug. 9 that it has agreed to buy Business School24 SpA from Il Sole 24 Ore SpA. Palamon is buying 49 percent of Business School24 at an 80 million euro ($93.9 million) valuation with a call option to buy another 2 percent in May 2018. The deal also calls for Palamon to acquire additional equity while Il Sole will retain 20 percent. Business School24, with headquarters in Milan and Rome, provides professionally-oriented postgraduate education and training.
