BC Partners agreed to sell a 30 percent stake in Mergermarket Group to GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. Financial terms weren’t announced. BC Partners will continue to hold more than 60 percent of Mergermarket. BC Partners acquired Mergermarket in 2014 from Pearson plc for 382 million pounds ($493.8 million). Mergermarket, of New York, provides financial news and analysis.

Abraaj Group said July 3 that it agreed to buy Java House Group. Emerging Capital Partners and Kevin Ashley, Java House founder and chairman, were the sellers. Financial terms weren’t announced. Java House, of Nairobi, Kenya, is a casual dining, food services chain in East Africa with 60 outlets. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP and Bowmans Kenya acted as legal advisers, while PwC acted as financial and tax advisers to Abraaj on the transaction.

EQT has agreed to buy 90 percent of Global Gateway South for $875 million. CMA CGM, the seller, will retain a 10 percent stake in Global Gateway, a terminal in the North American Port of Los Angeles. EQT is using its third infrastructure fund, which collected 4 billion euros earlier this year, to invest in Global Gateway. Jefferies LLC provided financial advice while Allen & Overy LLP acted as legal adviser to EQT Infrastructure.

ClearBalance is nearing the end of sales process, the Wall Street Journal reported. Angelo Gordon's private-equity group acquired ClearBalance in late 2012. Raymond James is advising on the sale of ClearBalance, which provides loans to help consumers pay for healthcare, the WSJ said. ClearBalance produces more than $16 million projected 2017 EBITDA, the story said.

GIC is in talks to buy a large stake in Mergermarket, according to the Financial Times. BC Partners is in advanced discussions with GIC to sell a more than 30 percent stake in the data company, the story said. The transaction could value Mergermarket at over 1 billion pounds ($1.3 billion), the FT said. BC Partners acquired Mergermarket in 2014 from the FT for 382 million pounds, the story said.
