A group of investors led by GL Capital have agreed to buy SciClone Pharmaceuticals Inc in a deal valued at about $605 million. The buyer consortium includes Bank of China Group Investment Ltd, CDH Investments, Ascendent Capital Partners and Boying. SciClone is a specialty pharmaceutical company with a product portfolio in oncology, infectious diseases and cardiovascular disorders.

The Ventresca family is the seller. Midas, of Capitol Heights, Maryland, provides rehabilitation services and products for critical water, wastewater and industrial pipe infrastructure throughout the Mid-Atlantic and southern region states.

Landon Tucker has joined Fifth Wall Ventures as its first entrepreneur-in-residence, according to a blog post from Brad Greiwe, co-founder and managing partner. Tucker was previously a senior analyst at Trian Fund Management. Andriy Mykhaylovskyy has also joined Fifth Wall as principal and COO. Mykhaylovskyy was previously with Elliot Management.

LDC said June 5 that it sold its investment in A-Gas to KKR. Financial terms weren’t announced. A-Gas, of Bowling Green, Ohio, is a subsidiary of A-Gas International, of the UK, and is the largest refrigerant recovery and reclamation company in the United States. LDC said it will make 3.3x money multiple on its original investment and an IRR of 24 percent.

GI Partners said June 5 that it agreed to sell its Waypoint portfolio of 3,106 single family rental properties to Colony Starwood Homes for about $815 million. The deal is expected to close in third quarter. GI invested in Waypoint Real Estate Group, which renovates, leases, and manages SFR assets in select markets across the United States, in 2011.
