Andreessen Horowitz leads $70 mln round for Accolade

Accolade Inc said Aug 11 that raised more than $70 million in Series E funding led by Andreessen Horowitz and with participation from Madrona Venture Group and others. Seattle-based Accolade is an on-demand healthcare concierge for employers, health plans and health systems. Including the current financing, Accolade has raised more than $90 million in its Series E round.

New Energy Capital hires Shaw, Marcus

New Energy Capital Partners said Aug. 10 that it hired Jeph Shaw and Ian Marcus as Principals in its Hanover, New Hampshire office. Shaw was previously an Associate with the firm while Marcus joins from Morgan Stanley & Co. where he was a Vice President on the Solar Desk within the North America Power & Gas Unit in its Commodities Division.

KKR, TPG to exit Zimmer Biomet in $965 mln secondary

Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc said Aug 10 that two of its stockholders, KKR and TPG Capital, are selling roughly 7.4 million shares in a secondary offering. The shares are being sold to the public at an initial price of $129.75 per share. The selling stockholders will receive all the proceeds, about $965.4 million, from the sale. Nothing will go to Zimmer Biomet or any of its directors. Goldman, Sachs & Co and J.P. Morgan are acting as joint book-running managers for the sale.

North Castle Fund VI raises $300 mln

North Castle Partners announced Aug 10 the final close of its sixth fund, which collected $300 million and was oversubscribed. Returning investors of North Castle Partners VI LP increased their commitments by about 25 percent. NCP VI has already made two investments: JTL Enterprises Inc and SLT Group LLC. North Castle, a Greenwich, Connecticut private equity firm, invests in consumer-driven product and service businesses that promote healthy, active, and sustainable living.

CareSkore raises $4.3 mln

CareSkore has raised $4.3 million in funding from investors including Cota Capital, Storm ventures, Rising Tide Fund and Liquid 2 Ventures. Mountain View, California-based CareSkore is a predictive population health management company.

TVSquared raises $3 mln

TVSquared said Aug 9 that it closed a $3 million investment round from both existing and new investors, including West Coast Capital. TVSquared, of the U.K., provides same-day measurement and optimization opportunities for TV advertisers.

Tailwater Capital invests in Goodnight Midstream

Tailwater Capital LLC said Aug 9 that it invested $80 million in Goodnight Midstream (formerly 1804 Operating). Dallas-based Goodnight Midstream provides water handling and salt water disposal solutions to oil and gas clients in high-growth areas of North America.

Alafair Biosciences raises $2 mln

Alafair Biosciences Inc said Aug 9 that it completed a $2 million Series A round led by ATP Fund. Existing and new investors took part including the UT Horizon Fund. Austin-based Alafair is a medical device company that is developing surgical products for soft tissue repair and protection applications.
