MetaCommunications raises $8 mln

MetaCommunications Inc. said Wednesday that it closed an $8 million growth funding round led by Next Level Ventures. Iowa City, Iowa-based MetaCommunications develops software solutions for marketing and creative teams worldwide.

Neuberger Berman private debt fund raises more than $620 mln

Neuberger Berman said Wednesday that its NB Private Debt Fund has closed on more than $620 million of LP partner commitments. The fund will seek to invest in the debt of private equity-backed companies, including uni-tranche loans, second lien loans and mezzanine debt securities of companies in both the primary issuance and secondary market. At the final close, the Fund was 52 percent invested in 22 companies.

CottonwoodEuro invests in Eurekite

CottonwoodEuro Technology Funds has invested in Eurekite, of Enschede, The Netherlands. Financial terms weren’t announced. Eurekite provides nanotechnology based flexible ceramics.

Praesidian backs Privet Capital's buy of Pyser-SGI Group

Praesidian Capital Europe said Wednesday that it provided a loan to support Privet Capital LLP’s buy of Pyser-SGI Group Ltd. Pyser-SGI, of the United Kingdom, is an optical equipment specialist.

Northbridge Venture Partners leads round for Cool Planet

Northbridge Venture Partners and Yung’s Enterprise have led an internal financing round for Cool Planet. The company’s current investors participated in the round. Cool Planet also hired James Loar to lead its biocarbon business. He was most recently VP of Operation’s for Wilbur-Ellis Company’s Ag Division. Cool Planet is a renewable energy and ag technology company.

VolunteerSpot raises $1.3 mln

VolunteerSpot has raised $1.3 million in funding led by AXA Strategic Ventures. Financial terms weren’t announced. Austin-based VolunteerSpot is a free event planning and community engagement platform for parents, teachers and volunteers.

Binswanger Glass buys Signature Glass

Binswanger Glass has acquired the assets of Signature Glass Inc. Financial terms weren’t announced. Houston-based Signature Glass is a contract glazing business. Binswanger is a portfolio company of Grey Mountain Partners.

Enaltus sells ScarAway to Perrigo

Enaltus LLC, a portfolio company of HealthEdge Investment Partners, has sold ScarAway to Perrigo Company plc. ScarAway provides scar management solutions including gels, serum and long and short fabric-backed silicone sheets. Intrepid Investment Bankers advised Enaltus in the sale.

Data Dimensions reorganizes executive team

Data Dimensions, a portfolio company of HealthEdge Investment Partners LLC, said Wednesday it reorganized its executive team. Shawna Schultz will now serve as EVP of Customer Experience while David Hiller is now EVP and COO for the entire Data Dimensions organization. Amanda Kilburg was named VP of Project Management and Implementations, and Jake Strader has been promoted to Director of Business Development.

River Associates to buy Action Fabricators

Maranon Capital L.P. said Wednesday that it completed a mezzanine investment in Action Fabricators Inc. to support River Associates Investments LLC’s buy of the company. Maranon also co-invested in the equity alongside River Associates. Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Action is a flexible materials converting company.
