Rakuten Inc. said Thursday it has agreed to buy an 11.9 percent stake in Lyft. Rakuten said it is investing $300 million as lead investor of Lyft’s $530 million series E investment round. Other investors of the E round were not disclosed. San Francisco-based Lyft, a car-sharing app, has received backing from Andreessen Horowitz, Mayfield, Founders Fund, Coatue Management, Third Point Management and Alibaba.

Axia Energy II LLC said Wednesday it closed a $200 million private equity financing commitment mainly from NGP Natural Resources, Old Ironsides Energy and management. Axia Energy is an oil and gas exploration company. Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors invested in Axia in 2009.

The India Hospitality Corporation, led by entrepreneurs Ravi Deol and Sandeep Vyas, was the seller and will maintain a minority equity stake. Financial terms weren’t announced. London-based Adelie provides sandwich products to supermarkets, coffee shops and the food service sector.
