Trevi Therapeutics Raises $10M Series A

Trevi Therapeutics Inc., a a drug development company founded in 2011, has raised $10 million in Series A financing. TPG Biotech provided the financing, the company said.

Poxel Raises $17M in Series B

Biopharma startup Poxel SA has closed on €13 million ($17 million) in a Series B round led by Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners. Existing investors InnoBio and Omnes Capital also participated. The company is based in Lyon, France.

Fruition Partners Raises $12M

Fruition Partners, a provider of technology-enabled services for the IT Service Management sector, raised $12 million in Series A financing. Trident Capital led the round, which will be used to bolster sales and marketing and for other growth efforts. Michael Biggee, managing director at Trident Capital, and Jeff Rich, venture partner at Trident Capital, will join the company’s board.

Exablox Inks $22M for Storage Tech

Exablox has raised $22 million in venture capital from DCM, Norwest Venture Partners, and US Venture Partners. The company, formed in 2010, is developing technology and service to help companies to “manage, protect, and access” stored data. Exablox is headquartered in Mountain View, Calif.

Avaxia Biologics Adds $6.4M

Avaxia Biologics Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing “gut-targeted” therapeutics, raised $6.4 million in Series B financing, it announced Tuesday. Cherrystone Angels and new investor Golden Seeds led the round. Other investors included Beacon Angels, Boston Harbor Angels, Launchpad Venture Group, Mass Medical Angels, and North Country Angels; as well as new investors the Beta Fund, Granite State Angels, the Keiretsu Forum, and Maine Angels.

Tau Therapeutics Adds $3M in Equity Financing

Tau Therapeutics, an oncology company developing “T-type calcium channel inhibitors” for the treatment of solid tumors, has raised $3 million in financing. The company is based in Charlottesville, Va. Details of the round were not disclosed.

Ortho Kinematics Inks $2M Series B

Ortho Kinematics Inc., a healthcare diagnostics company focused on spine imaging, has raised $2 million in its Series B financing. Specifics of the round were not disclosed. The company is based in Austin, Texas.

Blend Therapeutics Calls Up $16M

Blend Therapeutics Inc., a biopharmaceutical company based in Watertown, Mass., has raised $16 million in Series B financing. The company is backed by Flagship Ventures and New Enterprise Associates.

Pivotal Systems Raises $4.6M

Pivotal Systems Corp. has raised $4.6 million in new equity funding. Firsthand Technology Value Fund led the round. Pivotal Systems makes monitoring and process control technology for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. Pivotal Systems is based in Pleasanton, California.

FundersClub Backs Virool

Newly launched FundersClub has put $509,800 in social video advertising startup Virool, joining other investors Y Combinator, 500 Startups and Yuri Milner. Formed in 2012, FundersClub is an online marketplace that allows accredited investors become equity holders in FundersClub-managed venture funds.
