Six Degrees Group, formed by British entrepreneur Alastair Mills, is launching with 60 million pounds (about $94 million) in backing from Penta Capital. Six Degrees, which says it already has about 100 staffers and over 1,200 business customers, is focused on managed data services.

Amadesa, maker of website testing and analytics platform, has raised $7.4 million from Gemini Israel Funds and Carmel Ventures. The Series B money will help the company expand sales and marketing and continue development efforts.

Contour Energy Systems, a developer of battery systems, has finalized its Series C round with a total of $20 million. As PEHub reported previously, investors in the round include EDB Investments, CMEA Capital, Harris & Harris, Schlumberger and U.S. Venture Partners. The company said Thursday that SBI Jefferies Asia Fund L.P. had also joined as its newest investors.

OpenView Venture Partners, Western Technology Investment and angel investor Travis Kalanick also participated in the round. Keek Inc. has raised $5.5 million in financing for its social networking platform, where users can share video status updates via webcam or mobile phone. AlphaNorth Asset Management and Plazacorp Ventures led the financing round, with PowerOne Capital Markets acting as agents, the company announced Wednesday. The money will help Keek roll out new features, hire new staffers and fund expansion efforts. Keek is based in Toronto.

Investors include Spinnaker Trust; individual investors Jill Preotle, Mike Masterson and Ed Belove; and members of the Walnut Venture Associates. ezCater combines reviews and ratings with the ability to order online from local caterers. The company is based in Boston.
