Angel investors Dominic Collins, who was previously group director of Autotrader.co.uk, and individual investor Christoph Janz also participated. Both have joined FinanceAcar as advisors. Sean Park, partner at Anthemis, has joined the board as an observer.

Craton Equity Partners led a $60 million Series E round for Bridgelux Inc., a developer and manufacturer of LED lighting technologies. A laundry list of existing and strategic investors also participated in the round, including VantagePoint Capital Partners, DCM, El Dorado Ventures, Novus Energy Partners, Invus Group, VTS, Harris & Harris Group and Passport Capital. Leyden Energy, a maker of lithium-ion batteries for the consumer electronics, energy storage and electric vehicle markets, has closed on $20 million in Series B financing led by New Enterprise Associates. Lightspeed Ventures, Sigma Partners and Walden International also joined in the round. Foundation Capital led the round, which included participation from Google Ventures, Playdom co-founder Rick Thompson, and other angel investors and micro-cap venture capital firms, the company said.

Restoration Robotics, a medical device company focused on hair restoration, has closed a $41 million Series C round led by Clarus Ventures. Sutter Hill Ventures, Alloy Ventures and Interwest Partners also joined in the round, which will be used for commercialization and the launch of its technology. The company is making computer-assisted technology that enables harvesting of hair follicles during hair restoration procedures.

Battery Ventures has acquired a majority stake in Gas Measurement Instruments, a maker of portable and fixed gas detection products. Terms of the deal were not released. Gas Measurement is based in Renfrew, Scotland. Battery said that Gas Measurement Instruments would become a new platform in the firm’s industrial technology portfolio.
