Californian venture capital firm General Catalyst has led a $45 million Series B investment in genetic testing company Color Genomics, a round also supported by the singer Bono.
The firm and the U2 frontman are both new investors. Existing backers Susan Wagner, the co-founder of BlackRock, and venture firms 8VC, Khosla Ventures and Emerson Collective also participated.
Color Genomics, which was founded in 2015, has developed a test which analyses genes closely associated with some of the most common hereditary cancers.
