CalPERS appoints new Controller

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) has named Michele Nix as their Controller, effective September 10.

Nix will be responsible for trust accounting, financial accounting and reporting. She will also oversee accounting services such as travel, revolving fund, collections and cashiers. She will report to the chief financial officer.

Prior to joining CalPERS, she served as director of finance for the city of Columbia, Missouri, since 2016. Before that worked for the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System as CFO.
