Catalyst in glass maker MBO

Australia’s Catalyst Invesment Managers is backing the management buyout of New Zealand-based glass maker Metro GlassTech

Catalyst Investment Managers, the former Australian captive of UK insurer Prudential private equity arm, is investing in Metro GlassTech, a New Zealand-based glass maker.
 
Catalyst will hold a majority stake in the newly-incorporated NZ Glass Investment Company, leaving vendors Cameron Gregory, Andrew Smith, Brent Jones and Barrie Cummings with substantial shareholdings, according to a statement from Catalyst.

The four will remain active in the management of the company in which Gregory and Jones have been appointed joint managing directors.
 
The deal is subject to the approval of New Zealand’s Overseas Investment Office.
