Massey, van de Lubbe join Evercore

E. Thomas Massey and Marc van der Lubbe have joined Evercore’s investment banking business. Both executives are joining Evercore in May and will be based in London. Massey will be a senior MD and will lead Evercore’s Chemicals advisory franchise globally, while van der Lubbe will be an MD in the Chemicals Group focusing primarily on Europe. Massey was most recently Citgroup’s head of European M&A and van der Lubbe was an MD at Citi where he headed the investment banking franchise for the bank's chemicals clients in the EMEA region.

Privateer Holdings' Tilray gets a new chief executive

Canadian medical cannabis producer Tilray has appointed Greg Engel as its CEO. Prior to joining the company, he served as an executive in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, including Forest Laboratories Canada Inc. Based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Tilray operates a licensed facility to grow, process, package and ship medical cannabis to Canadian patients. It was launched in 2013 by private equity firm Privateer Holdings. Earlier this year, Privateer received an investment from Founders Fund.

Gryphon Investors adds Grady as a partner

Gryphon Investors has hired Robert E. Grady as a partner. The appointment becomes effective March 2. In his new position, Grady will head the firm's general industries group. Previously, Grady worked at the Cheyenne Capital Fund where he served as a general partner and managing director. Also, Grady is a former partner, managing director and global head of venture and growth capital at The Carlyle Group.

First Avenue Partners expands team with hire

Global private placement agent and investment advisory firm First Avenue Partners has named Patrick Shuttleworth as a vice president. Previously, he worked at Zouk Capital.

PE-backed Camber Corp recruits Nolan as CEO

Camber Corp., a portfolio company of New Mountain Capital, has hired Philip O. Nolan as CEO. Nolan will replace Camber co-founder Walter Batson who will remain as chairman of the board of directors. Nolan is the former chairman and CEO of Stanley Inc. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, Camber is a professional services organization.

Altus Group appoints Ridgeline Capital managing partner/CIO as board chairman

Altus Group Limited, a Canadian provider of software and data solutions for the commercial real estate industry, has named Raymond C. Mikulich as chairman of its board of directors. Mikulich will succeed Harvey S. Naglie who has been the board chairman since 2005. Mikulich is a managing partner and chief investment officer at Ridgeline Capital Group.

Partin names CFO of BlackLine

BlackLine, which is backed by Silver Lake Sumeru, said Tuesday that it hired Mark Partin as its CFO. Partin recently served as CFO of Fiberlink communications which was sold to IBM. Charles Best, BlackLine’s former CFO, will remain with the company as Chief Accounting Officer.

Bennett Goodman joins Blackstone's board

Blackstone said Tuesday that Bennett Goodman has joined its board of directors. Bennett is a co-founder of GSO Capital Partners, Blackstone’s credit investment platform.

BBX Capital Partners appoints new principal

BBX Capital Partners has hired Nathan Dapeer as a principal. Previously, Dapeer worked at Blue Sea Capital and Brockway Moran & Partners.

H.I.G. Growth Partners makes Shah an MD

H.I.G. Growth Partners LLC, the growth capital unit of H.I.G. Capital LLC, said Tuesday it promoted Nik Shah to MD. He joined H.I.G. in 2007 and has been responsible for investments in industries including technology, digital media, marketing and business services.
