Evercore said Wednesday that it has hired Denis A. Bovin as a senior advisor with a focus on the global technology and aerospace/defense sectors. Recently, Bovin served as chairman and CEO of Palimere Group.

Park Madison promotes one and hires another

Park Madison Partners said Wednesday that it has promoted John H. Sweeney to vice president. Also, the firm has named Andrew Juiris as an associate. Sweeney first joined Park Madison as an associate in May 2012 while Juiris is a former development consultant at Gensler. Based in New York, Park Madison Partners is a real estate placement and advisory firm that focuses on real estate private equity.

Marty Hanaka joins Highland Consumer Partners as operating partner

Highland Consumer Partners has appointed retail executive Marty Hanaka as an operating partner. He most recently was the interim chief executive officer of Guitar Center from January 2013 to April 2013.

Abacus expands investment team

New York-based direct lending company Abacus Finance Group has added four new investment professionals to its team. The firm has appointed Aized Rabbani as senior vice president, Brian Green as associate, Rafal Rydzewski as analyst and Joseph Lee as an analyst.

West Face Capital's Alexander Singh joins Acasta Capital

Alexander Singh has joined Toronto-based merchant bank and advisory firm Acasta Capital, assuming the roles of director and general counsel. Singh was previously a general counsel at West Face Capital, a Canadian alternative investment manager that combines control-through-distressed, high-yield, negotiated finance, proactive equity and private equity activity. West Face also has its headquarters in Toronto.

Genstar-backed Asset International hires CFO

Asset International, which is backed by Genstar Capital, has named Carolyn Ullerick as its chief financial officer. Previously, Ullerick worked at Reed Elsevier’s LexisNexis Group where she served as global CFO. Headquartered in New York City, Asset International provides data and marketing solutions to the global asset management industry.

Z Capital expands investment team

Z Capital Partners has expanded its investment team. Thomas P. Wicky has been appointed managing director and operating partner and Matthew D. Kane has been named director and deputy general counsel.

Westshore Capital Partners hires new VP

Westshore Capital Partners has hired Michael J. Sullivan as vice president. Prior to joining Westshore Capital, Sullivan worked as an investment banker at Cross Keys Capital.
