Hellman & Friedman is weighing a bid to buy a stake in Euroclear, the Financial Times is reporting. CVC and GIC were also interested in Euroclear, which provides settlement, custody and collateral management services, the story said.

Council Capital and Baird Capital said Sept. 26 that they sold their stakes in emids to New Mountain Capital. Financial terms weren’t announced. Emids, of Nashville, provides technology services and solutions for healthcare payers and providers.

Wealthsimple acquires SimpleTax

Toronto-based Wealthsimple, an online investing service and trading app, has acquired SimpleTax, a Canadian web-based tax preparation service. No financial terms were disclosed. Wealthsimple's backers include Allianz X, the investment arm of Allianz Group and Power Financial. SimpleTax was founded in 2012.

Pacific Current takes minority stake in Proterra

Pacific Current Group Limited has acquired a minority stake in Minneapolis-based Proterra Investment Partners, a private equity firm specializing in natural resources investing. No financial terms were disclosed.

DPI invests $54 mln in Channel VAS

Channel VAS, a fintech provider of mobile financial and airtime credit services in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, has secured $54 million in funding. The investor is Development Partners International, a pan-African focused private equity firm.

Vista buys AltaReturn, will merge it with Black Mountain to form Allvue

Vista Equity Partners has acquired AltaReturn, a provider of cloud-based, end-to-end technology solutions for the private capital and family office markets. As part of the deal, Vista will merge AltaReturn with portfolio company Black Mountain to form Miami-based Allvue Systems, a provider of alternative investment solutions. No financial terms were disclosed. Deutsche Bank served as exclusive financial adviser to AltaReturn while Jefferies LLC did likewise for Vista.

MSCI inks buy of Carbon Delta

MSCI Barra (Suisse) Sàrl, a subsidiary of MSCI Inc, agreed to buy Cardon Delta AG. Financial terms weren’t announced. Carbon Delta, of Zurich, is an environmental fintech and data analytics firm. Carbon Delta raised $1.73 million in venture funding, PitchBook said.

Knox Capital invests in a360inc

Knox Capital has made an investment in a360inc, a legal and financial services technology and outsourcing company. No financial terms were disclosed. Marks Baughan Securities served as financial adviser to a360inc on the deal. Knox was supported on the deal by an affiliate of Morgan Stanley Private Credit and Orix Mezzanine & Private Equity.
