Avista Capital Partners and Dana Holdings have acquired Coral Gables, Florida-based Kramer Laboratories, a provider of over-the-counter foot care and specialty cough products. No financial terms were disclosed. Ropes & Gray LLP provided legal counsel to Avista on the transaction while Akerman LLP did likewise for Kramer.

Abacus Finance Group LLC provided $22.5 million in senior secured credit facilities to support the Thompson Street Capital Partners' buyout of Transnet YX Inc. Abacus also made an equity co-investment in Transnet YX. Based in Memphis, Transnet YX is a molecular diagnostic laboratory providing research animal genotyping services to the pharmaceutical and academic research communities.

TA Associates has made an undisclosed investment in Datix, a specialty healthcare patient safety software provider. Arma Partners served as financial adviser to Datix on the transaction. Previous backer Five Arrows Principal Investments will retain a "significant" stake in Datix. In addition to the funding, Naveen Wadhera, a managing director at TA Associates, and Ethan Liebermann, a principal at TA Associates, have been added to Datix's board of directors.
