H.I.G. buys three Norwegian office buildings

H.I.G. Capital LLC has acquired three office buildings in Norway. No financial terms were disclosed.

Sun Life Financial to merge Bentall Kennedy with GreenOak Real Estate

Sun Life Financial Inc said Dec. 19 that it plans to merge Bentall Kennedy with GreenOak Real Estate. Sun Life said it plans to buy a majority of the combined Bentall Kennedy and GreenOak entity that will be named Bentall GreenOak. Sun Life Financial said it will contribute its interest in Bentall Kennedy and pay GreenOak shareholders C$195 million ($146 million) for 56 percent of the combined Bentall GreenOak entity. Sun Life said it would have an option to acquire the remaining interest in Bentall GreenOak in about seven years from the closing. GreenOak Real Estate is a real estate investment firm with approximately C$14 billion (US$11 billion) in assets under management.

Capital Square 1031 acquires South Carolina office building

Capital Square 1031 has acquired an office building located in the Charlotte, North Carolina suburb of Fort Mill, South Carolina. No financial terms were disclosed. The property is 100 percent leased to CompuCom Systems Inc.

Plymouth Industrial REIT invests snags $75 mln from Madison

Madison International Realty Holdings has invested $75 million in Plymouth Industrial REIT Inc, a real estate investment trust focused on the acquisition and operation of single and multi-tenant industrial properties located in secondary and select primary markets. In conjunction with the investment, Plymouth has acquired a 20-building, 1.1 million-square-foot light industrial and flex portfolio in Jacksonville, Florida for $97.1 million. Sandler O’Neill + Partners advised Plymouth on the investment.

TIAA's Nuveen, Jonathan Rose Companies and NHPF buy Shore Hill Housing

Jonathan Rose Companies LLC, The NHP Foundation and TIAA's investment manager Nuveen, have acquired Shore Hill Housing, a two-building, 558-unit HUD project-based Section 8 Housing complex in Brooklyn, New York. The price of the acquisition was about $150 million. The seller was NYU Langone.

Blue Moon form JV with Aegis Living, acquires three properties in Washington and California

Blue Moon Capital Partners LP has formed a joint venture with Aegis Living and acquired three properties in Bellevue and Kirkland, Washington, and Aptos, California. No financial terms were disclosed. The portfolio consists of assisted living and memory care apartments.

IndoSpace closes third logistics real estate fund at $1.2 bln

IndoSpace, an India-based developer of industrial real estate and warehousing facilities, has closed its third logistics real estate fund at $1.2 billion. The fund will focus on developing and acquiring industrial and logistics-related real estate investments in India.

Covenant Capital raises $395 mln for ninth apartment fund

Covenant Capital Group has closed its ninth apartment fund at $395 million, beating its $300 million target. Covenant Apartment Fund IX plans to invest more than $1.2 billion in about 25 to 30 multifamily properties over the next three years.

TH Real Estate, a Nuveen affiliate, has raised over $330 million for its U.S. strategic industrial fund. TH Real Estate U.S. Strategic Industrial Fund I LP will focus on acquiring and developing bulk and light industrial assets in major U.S. industrial markets.

Real estate tech firm Juniper Square scores $25 mln Series B

San Francisco and Austin-based Juniper Square, a real estate tech firm, has raised $25 million in Series B funding. Ribbit Capital led the round with participation from other investors that included Felicis Ventures and Zigg Capital.
