Great Rock hires Bloom as MD for Toronto

Great Rock Capital has named Ronnie Bloom as managing director of originations. Bloom will be based in Toronto. In his new role, Bloom will be responsible for building relationships, sourcing investment opportunities and driving the continued expansion of the firm in the Canadian market. Bloom's work background includes origination roles at both Wells Fargo Bank and the Royal Bank of Canada. Headquartered in Westport, Connecticut, Great Rock is an asset-focused commercial finance company specializing in middle market lending.

SVB provides venture debt to Parity

Parity Inc has secured C$1.25 million in venture debt from Silicon Valley Bank. Parity is a Canadian protech company using artificial intelligence to eliminate energy waste in multi-residential buildings. Recently, Parity closed a Series A investment with ArcTern Ventures, a North American cleantech venture fund.

Varagon backs Avista's buyout of GCM

Varagon Capital Partners has provided a $75 million credit facility to support Avista Capital Partners' acquisition of GCM. Based in Union City, California, GCM is a MedTech outsourced precision manufacturer.

Xeris Pharmaceuticals secures $85 mln debt facility

Xeris Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceutical company, has secured a $85 million debt facility from Oxford Finance LLC and Silicon Valley Bank. The debt facility will be used by Xeris to provide "greater financial flexibility and additional access to capital."

ABCS supports Tailwind's buyout of Ventiv

The Antares Bain Capital Complete Financing Solution, a joint venture between Antares and Bain Capital Credit, has provided a credit facility to support Tailwind Capital's acquisition of Ventiv Technology. No financial terms were disclosed. Ventiv is a software provider of integrated risk management solutions for businesses and government entities. Antares has offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto.

MidOcean Credit Partners recruits Dale as portfolio manager

MidOcean Credit Partners has named Adrienne Dale as a portfolio manager for the firm's collateralized loan obligation strategies. Previously, she held senior role in Credit Suisse Asset Management’s credit investments group.

Abacus backs AMP's acquisition of Kason

Abacus Finance has provided credit facilities to back Advanced Material Processing's acquisition of Millburn, New Jersey-based Kason Corporation, a maker of screening, drying, cooling and processing equipment. No financial terms were disclosed. Abacus Finance was administrative agent and sole lender on the financing. AMP is a portfolio company of May River Capital.

IceKredit snags $47 mln

China-based IceKredit, a credit evaluation institution for small and micro big data-focused businesses, has raised $47 million in funding. The investors include Frees Fund, Yunqi Partners, China Creation Ventures and Youzu Interactive.

Cooks Venture secures $12 mln

Cooks Venture, a next-generation agricultural tech company, has raised $12 million in senior secured financing. The backer was AMERRA Capital Management LLC.

Crayhill provides $100 mln loan to Urban Grid

Urban Grid, a developer of solar projects, has secured a $100 million loan from Crayhill Capital Management LP. The facility will finance the development of utility-scale solar projects. Urban Grid is backed by PP Asset Management.
