Deloitte, the global professional services firm, has hired a dedicated private equity fund placement professional to join the fund placement team which the firm started to assemble in November last year.
The firm has appointed Alma Poskovic, a former associate at Atlantic-Pacific Capital, which is one of the leading independent fund placement operations in the industry. Earlier in her career, Poskovic worked at JP Morgan Private Fund Group, the investment bank’s now defunct placement arm.
While at Atlantic-Pacific, Poskovic has helped organise private equity partnerships on behalf of MatlinPatterson, Platinum Equity Partners and Deutsche Beteiligungs amongst others, according to a Deloitte press release.
At Deloitte, Poskovic will be working as a manager alongside James Coleman, who joined the firm last year from UBS. Including hires from within the firm, Deloitte now has five professionals dedicated to fund placement.
Deloitte’s effort to build a fund placement operation are led by Chris Ward, head of corporate finance advisory, and John Maxey, a senior tax partner.
The firm is yet to take on a placement mandate, though a first assignment is expected to be announced later this year.
In addition to building out its London team of fund placement professionals, the firm is also actively looking to recruit in the US. A search for a suitable individual to join in North America is currently underway, said James Coleman in an interview.
