DOWNLOAD: Q3 fundraising dips to lowest since 2015

Nearly $297bn was raised by a smaller number of larger funds in the first three quarters of the year.

Private Equity International‘s Q3 Fundraising Report is now available for download.

Fundraising in the first nine months of 2019 is at its lowest since 2015 and has decreased nearly 8 percent from the equivalent period in 2018 to $296.5 billion.

More funds, however, held final closes for the period: 494 against 368 funds last year.

Buyout fundraising, mainly North America-focused, accounted for more than 50 percent of the total capital raised.

Meanwhile, the average fund size in the first nine months of 2019 decreased 17 percent to $600 million, compared with $727 million in the same period last year.
