- Three Delta ups stake in Sainsbury’s to 25%
The investment vehicle of Qatari property investment fund Three Delta has upped its stake in Sainsburys. The FTSE 100 listed UK supermarket’s shares leapt by nearly 5 percent, as speculation suggested a takeover bid was forthcoming.
- CVC hauled before Treasury following AA criticism
CVC Capital Partners has become the latest private equity firm to be called before the UK Treasury Select Committee, which is due to meet for a third time next Tuesday to discuss the industry. The summons comes in the wake of its controversial ownership of the AA, which this week completed a £6 billion merger with Saga.

Private equity-owned Maxeda has disposed of Hema, selling the Dutch department store to retail specialist Lion Capital. Maxeda continues to prove a successful investment for the consortium of KKR, Cinven, AlpInvest and Permira that recapitalised the retail group last year.

US media and communications investment firm Quadrangle has opened its doors in London, passing 3i, CVC Capital Partners and BC Partners, which have all started New York operations recently.
