Macquarie Mexican infra fund inks debut deal
The Macquarie Mexican Infrastructure Fund will acquire a company with a 20-year contract to reconstruct and maintain highways in the Mexican state of Durango. The firm has also placed Macquarie executives Martin Stanley and Chris Leslie on its board.
Mexico awards one of world’s largest wastewater plants
Mexican firms IDEAL and ICA together with Spain’s Acciona Agua and a subsidiary of Japanese investor Mitsui & Co. have won a $726m contract to build and operate one of the world’s largest wastewater treatment plants. The plant will be located close to Mexico City.
Macquarie eyes $1.1bn for Mexican infrastructure fund
The fund is the first peso-denominated fund focused solely on infrastructure opportunities in Mexico, according to a source close to the firm. A first close is expected to be reached before the end of the year. Macquarie will seek to raise capital from Mexican institutional as well as international investors.
