- Judge approves auction for Lehman's investment management division
The auction for Lehman's Neuberger Berman and units including private equity fund of funds and secondaries, as well as infrastructure, will proceed despite objections from Carlyle over a $2.15bn bid from Bain and Hellman & Friedman.

The publicly listed fund of funds is now trading at almost a 50 percent discount to NAV. In a statement, the fund says it is “hopeful” that a deal for Lehman’s asset management and alternatives units “will be made within a very short period of time”.
- UK media group rejects reduced £1.9bn bid
The reduced takeover offer for Informa, publisher of Lloyd's List, by Providence Equity Partners, The Carlyle Group and The Blackstone Group has come after a shake-up in the original consortium that offered £2.15bn for the company in late June.
- General Atlantic trades in Nymex stake for CME shares
Upon the merger of Nymex Holdings and CME Group at the end of this week, the Greenwich, Connecticut-based private equity firm will hold 1.3 percent of CME; General Atlantic also holds stakes in NYSE Euronext, BM&F Bovespa and the National Stock Exchange of India.
