The South Carolina Retirement System has made a $125 million commitment to Brookfield Capital Partners IV. The commitment was approved at the pension’s investment committee meeting on 9 June.
The retirement system has assets under management in excess of $29 billion. SCRS’s private equity team is run by David Haas who joined in early 2015 and its allocation to the asset class stands at 9.1 percent.
SCRS have committed to previous funds managed by Brookfield, including a number of its real estate vehicles.
Brookfield’s fourth mid-market fund opened in October 2014 and has a target of $3 billion.
