Daniel Feder, senior investment manager at Covariance Capital Management, talks in this video about his firm, an “outsourced CIO” that operates under the umbrella of pension giant TIAA-CREF to provide professional invesment services to smaller endowments, foundations and other investors. The firm, with $1 billion under management, has a 10 percent allocation to private equity, Feder says, about equally allocated to venture capital and buyouts and almost equally allocated between U.S. and international managers.
